Guest Review: Scorpio Hates Virgo (Signs of Love #2) by Anyta Sunday

This year is all about healing the heart, Scorpio. It’s time to leave negative attitudes and stoic facades at the door and let others see the real, more vulnerable you.

Percy Freedman is not grieving. Absolutely not, take that back at once. No, he’s entirely sure that selling his dead aunt’s home and leaving the neighbors he’s known for years is the sane thing to do. Who in their right mind would keep the house that smells like all the hugs he’ll never have again?

Nobody, that’s who.

Well, except his cul-de-sac neighbors. They all seem to think some paint and new furniture will clean the emotional slate. They all want him to stay.

Even his nemesis, Callaghan Glover.

Especially his nemesis, Callaghan Glover.

Lured into a game of Sherlock Gnomes, Percy finds himself hanging out with his neighbors more than might be considered healthy. Along with juggling new and surprising verbal grenades from Cal, and his burgeoning friendship with Gnomber9, Percy is starting to wonder if selling might have been the grief talking after all . . .

That’s right, Scorpio. With a little patience, heartbreak might be a thing of the past . . .

“Scorpio Hates Virgo” contains sarcasm, sexual content, a slightly sappy HEA, and an unhealthy obsession with dinosaurs.
It can be read as a standalone.

This is slow-burn romance at its best!
You’re an open book—my open book—and I’ve been studying you for a long time.
Are you looking for a sweet book dripping with UST? Then look no further, Scorpio Hates Virgo is definitely the book you are looking for.

Percy and Cal have known each other for years, they've been nemeses from the first time they met and the verbal sparring between them has been increasing ever since. Circumstances forced them both back to the town and street they'd left a few years before, throwing them together once again. But if everything goes according to Percy's plans, this would be for the last time.
I guess we really are earth and water.
Because together we’re mud?
Together we stick.
But add some meddling neighbours (a.k.a. the cul-de-sac) and a friendly neighbourhood game of Sherlock Gnomes and things might not go exactly as planned. But then again some plans are meant to be changed.

You can feel and taste the tension between Percy and Cal. It's tangible and is there in every look, every word spoken between them. It keeps you turning the pages for their next verbal sparring. Their bantering slowly turns into something more, something deeper. I loved how both of them were a bit clueless. Not about what they felt or wanted, but how to really go about it. And if they could trust. Trust each other, and trust themselves, it made for a fun read.
I feel butterflies every time I see you. I constantly want to tease you and draw you into conversation. I'm nervous when we touch, yet I find myself needing to do it more. When you look at me it makes me feel giddy and absurdly attractive.

Scorpio Hates Virgo is all about family and friends. The family you were born into, but more importantly the one you choose for yourself. And the friends you have around you, if you just dare to open your eyes to see them. They are there waiting to help when you need them.

I just loved the sense of place Anyta Sunday created. The people. The cul-de-sac. There was just such warmth to the place, filled with such wonderfully kind and generous people. It felt kind of magical and I found myself wishing for a place just like that.

There was nothing earth shattering about this book. No plot twists you didn't see coming from miles away. But that doesn't matter in the least, when the book is as beautifully written as this one is. It engages you from the first to last page. And when you've finished reading it you are left with a smile on your face and warmth to your heart. A truly feel-good, low angst book for when you need something sweet and cute in your life.

Scorpio Hates Virgo was a good addition to the Signs of Love series. It doesn't quite match Leo Loves Aries in cuteness and hilarity factor. But it was a very sweet read all the same, and one you shouldn't miss out on.
